I love reading fanfic. I flit from fandom to fandom. There is superb writing out there if you take the time to seek it out and listen to the recommendations of other readers. There is also some trash. This is true of the world of fiction in general, judging by what I have picked up at bookshops, in charity shops, and online.
I make no apology for being involved in fanfiction. I do not believe it is illegal, immoral or disrespectful. I have written at length about this elsewhere.
I tend, in my own writing, to alight on different fandoms for varying periods of time. I sometimes revisit them but not always.
Some of my fanfiction is 'slash'. This means that it may contain erotic scenes between people of the same gender. It is rarely explicit; I write erotica rather than porn. However, I would not expect most of it to be read by children. I believe any child who accidentally read it would be puzzled rather than harmed, if they hadn't already heard much more 'adult' things in the playground. They might, of course, be shocked to find that adults know about such things.I get the feeling that children believe adults lose their memories at about 21 and start again with a clean slate.

All my stories are clearly labelled with the fandom(s), pairings, ratings etc.
If you are offended by the idea of sex, or romance, between people of the same gender, please just tiptoe quietly away.
I hope some of you might try reading a story in an unfamiliar fandom. I think most of my fics are self explanatory and might even come across as original fics to those who don't know the shows or books they are based on. Let me know!
