Moth's Fiction and Fanfiction

written by candlelight to be read under the stars

versifying for fun

I have always written poetry. Some of it, written in primary school, would probably make me cringe if it turned up in an old notebook. I remember organising my friends into poetry competitions. Some of them even claimed to enjoy it. I had stuff published in school and parish magazines, then when I had my first rejection slip, from a university magazine, I took fright, and didn't try again. I kept some of the efforts, though, and my daughter thinks they're worth showing to people.... I wrote more while I was teaching; it helps if the teacher models what the student is being asked to do, and anyway, why should the pupils have all the fun? Recently, I've been writing poetry within my 'adult fairy tale in progress' but although I think I'm improving, I can't show you here.

Some of this stuff is experimental. You have been warned.
